Erbaa Vocational School of Health Services started its operations with the Nursing Program in the 1993 - 1994 Academic Year. After the closure of this program in 1997, the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program was opened in the same year and started education in the 1997-1998 academic year. It continues its education with the secondary education opened in 2008. Our Vocational School moved to a new campus in the district center in the Spring Semester of the 2014-2015 Academic Year, and since there was physical opportunity and sufficient faculty members were provided, it started education by admitting students to the First and Emergency Aid Program as of the 2015-2016 Academic Year. No students have been accepted to the open Child Development and Elderly Care programs yet.

In the 2021-2022 academic year, the Opticianry Program was opened within the Department of Medical Services and Techniques and started training by accepting its first students.

 

In the 2021-2022 academic year, the Home Patient Care Program was opened within the Department of Health Care Services and started training by accepting its first students.

 

In the 2023-2024 Academic Year, our Vocational School continues its education with 13 faculty members, 522 students in regular education, and 144 students in evening education, with a total of 669 students. Our Vocational School has a closed area of ​​14100 m2. There are 4 computer laboratories in the building where our Vocational School operates, and they are used together with Erbaa Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Erbaa Faculty of Health Sciences and Erbaa Vocational School.

 

Our school has 2 lecture halls with a capacity of 80 people and 1 conference hall with a capacity of 270 people, which can be used for multi-purposes for lectures, conferences and social activities, and is used jointly with other academic units. There are State Hospitals, Community Health Centers and Family Health Centers in our district where students of our school can practice and they are used for practice training. There are currently no sports fields in our school. Necessary initiatives have been taken to build a reserved sports area in the school garden. It is organized for our students to carry out their sports activities in the sports fields in the district. There is a tennis table inside the building. Our students are helped with their cultural activities and given the necessary support.

 

Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program

Our School's Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program started education in the 1997-1998 academic year. Our program has a quota of 60 students in primary education and 60 students in evening education. In this program, healthcare personnel needed to compile, streamline and present the results obtained from scientific research in various branches of Medicine and Health technology to the service of researchers are trained. He can work with the title of "Medical Secretary" in public and private health institutions and organizations. In addition, they can work in polyclinic and clinical data processing services, patient registration and admission, human resources and statistics units and central medical archive services of public and private inpatient/outpatient treatment institutions and organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Health. They can be appointed as Health Technicians (Medical Secretary) according to the Public Personnel Selection Examination. Students of the Medical Documentation and Secretarial program can transfer to the "Health Administration" and "Health Institutions Management" undergraduate programs with the Vertical Transfer Exam. The work they do is basically a task related to human health. People working in this field do work related to regularly providing the information produced by researchers and communicating it to the relevant parties.

The purpose of the program; To train the health personnel needed in the process of collecting, compiling, organizing, storing and re-using information and documents obtained in scientific research in the field of medicine and health and in the process of diagnosing and treating patients.

First and Emergency Aid Program

Our school's First and Emergency Aid program started to provide education at the associate degree level in 2015. First and Emergency Aid program; Candidates are placed according to the exam results conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center. Those who complete this program are entitled to receive the title of "First and Emergency Aid Technician". The language of instruction is Turkish and the number of quotas is 60. There is no preparatory program or evening education. The aim of the program is to train qualified health technicians who can provide basic and advanced life support to patients and victims in the pre-hospital period, who can recognize possible critical situations and apply emergency care, and who can ensure that patients or injured patients who have received first aid can reach hospitals safely by ambulance. The education period of the program is four semesters (Internship period is included). At the end of the second semester, 30 working days of summer practice is carried out.

 

Graduates of the program can work as technicians in the emergency services and ambulance services of public and private inpatient/non-inpatient treatment institutions and organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Health. They can be appointed as Paramedics (Health Technicians) according to the Public Personnel Selection Examination. First and Emergency Aid Program students take the Vertical Transfer Exam; It is possible to transfer to Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services departments.

Opticianry Program

It was established to train "Opticians" in the 2021-2022 academic year. Opticians are technicians who can read the prescription written by an ophthalmologist, provide the supply, installation, repair and maintenance if necessary, and presentation of optical tools and equipment suitable for the patient, and in short, work in the field of protecting vision health from seven to seventy. Our program has a quota of 30 students. There is no preparatory program or evening education. Graduates of the Opticianry Program can earn an optician diploma and all kinds of usage rights of this diploma. After graduating, an optician can open an optical store using this title in accordance with the 5193 opticians law and can work as a responsible manager or optician in private or legal optical organizations according to this law. In addition, they can work as opticians in companies that produce optical instruments and materials. They can work as assistant technicians to ophthalmologists in hospital eye clinics. They can be appointed as Health Technicians (Opticians) according to the Public Personnel Selection Examination. Opticianry Program students can transfer to "Physics" and "Engineering" undergraduate programs with the Vertical Transfer Exam. The work they do is basically a task related to human health. People working in this field do work related to regularly providing the information produced by researchers and communicating it to the relevant parties. Thanks to the summer internship at workplaces and the 14-week practices to be carried out with our expert and experienced educator staff during the semester, within the framework of university-employer cooperation, our students are ensured to graduate with knowledge about professional practice with job guides and assignments.

Home Patient Care Program

The need for health care services is increasing as a result of the increasing need for care in health services all over the world and in Turkey. In the 2021-2022 academic year, the Home Patient Care Program within the Department of Health Care Services started training by accepting its first students. The language of instruction is Turkish and the number of quotas is 40. There is no preparatory program or evening education. The aim of the program is to improve the patient's quality of life, recognize the patient's characteristics, provide daily care, do physiotherapy and occupational therapy, organize the patient's room, perform exercises in and out of bed, relax the patient, get the patient out of bed, give medication to the patient, provide care for special diseases, and provide first aid. To train trained home patient care technicians who can perform home care and evaluate the patient who needs home care as a whole, together with his family and environment, and ensure that the treatment, care and rehabilitation he needs is continued and monitored in the home environment. Home Patient Care Program students take the Vertical Transfer Exam; They can transfer to departments such as Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Gerontology, Nursing, Health Management and Social Work.
